Day 1 — Departing into the Moroccan desert: wildlife reserve and first camp
8:30am, Café La Rose du Sud, M’Hamid El Ghizlane. The team is there and the 4×4 is loaded. The tarmac disappears within minutes — and the Sahara takes over for eight days.
So, the first stage is already extraordinary: the crossing of Oued M’Zoumo, a dry riverbed whose sandy floor reveals the traces of the desert’s nocturnal life. Day 2 — Oued Naam and the horn dunes of Erg Bougarn
Naam — ostriches in Arabic. This name is not coincidence. Oued Naam was once home to wild ostriches that roamed freely here for millennia. They disappeared during the 20th century — but their memory is written into the very name of the place. Your guide shares their story as you walk across sand that bore their footprints for centuries.
